New York 2026-27 "Young"
The city that never sleeps
The trip in detail
New York, the city that symbolises humanity, the most iconic place in the world, is the dream of many travellers. From our earliest years, New York embodies the metropolis par excellence, a place where the stories of so many people take on an almost metaphorical value. Television series and blockbusters, for their part, have accustomed us to a thousand shots of the city, in every season. Literature too offers shining examples of truly great books set in New York. How could we forget, for instance, the story of a great classic like The Catcher in the Rye? Examples like these are countless… New York is a city that embraces a great many aspects across the board and recombines them in the light of its eternal charm. Iconic places such as the Rockefeller Center, Central Park, Manhattan, the Statue of Liberty, Broadway and many more have become part of our shared imagination. In winter, moreover, the magic of the city takes on an even greater intensity: lights illuminate the great avenues and neighbourhoods such as Dyker Heights, the snow that so often falls covers the tree-lined paths of the most beautiful parks with its white mantle, and the delightful scent of gingerbread and mulled wine drifts through the charming Christmas markets. In the evening, after warming up with a hot drink from the famous Starbucks, we suggest taking in a Broadway musical in one of the many theatres that line it. Lovers of culture and art will find plenty to sink their teeth into in the city’s fantastic museums, home to thrilling collections where a succession of emotions accompanies the evolution of art through the centuries. But New York also means modern history, which very often touches us closely. Many Italian emigrants, for example, entered the city through the famous Ellis Island, where today a moving museum illustrates the stages of the historic phenomenon that involved our great-grandparents. Or, to evoke more recent memories, a visit to Ground Zero prompts reflection on the value of tolerance and peace. New York is also fun, the city that never sleeps, cradled by the thousand lights reflected at night on the glass surfaces of its skyscrapers. Speaking of which, a trip up to the Top of the Rock to enjoy a fantastic panorama over the city is an absolute must! As is savouring an excellent cheesecake in one of the countless pastry shops, its unmistakable flavour destined to merge, in your memories, with your snapshots of New York!
New Year’s Eve in New York is, without doubt, the most beautiful and famous in the world. Waiting for the stroke of midnight in Times Square, in the midst of a vibrant crowd, is one of those experiences to be had at least once in a lifetime. The atmosphere, in the days and hours that follow, is truly something unique and electrifying. Television stations from all over the world go live from their positions, news bulletins run footage from this corner of the city on a loop, while viewers with a dreamy look picture themselves right in the middle of New York!
